    In this webinar, Michael S. Browning will provide a "real world" hypothetical, and then discuss, in detail, the following questions pertaining to bona fide purchasers:

    What, exactly, is a bona fide purchaser?

    What is "good faith" as it pertains to a bona fide purchaser?

    As it pertains to a bona fide purchaser, what is "good faith," valuable consideration," and "without notice?"

    Who bears the burden of proof as it pertains to a bona fide purchaser?

    Are there instances when bona fide purchaser status is inapplicable?

    Michael S. Browning is the founding partner of Michael S. Browning, P.C., an oil, gas, and mineral law firm representing the energy industry in due diligence, title work, and general oil and gas transactional matters. Michael is Board Certified in Oil, Gas and Mineral Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and practices: oil, gas and mineral law; probate law; and general real estate. Michael’s practice includes rendering all types of title opinions throughout the State of Texas and the State of New Mexico, as well as representing clients on regulatory issues, in leasehold acquisition and divestiture, in due diligence matters, and drafting various transactional instruments. He has advised clients on oil, gas, and mineral title issues, allocation wells, pooling and unitization, community leases, undivided mineral ownership, various regulatory matters, and leasehold estates. Michael has prepared oil, gas and mineral leases, amendments, assignments, ratifications, mineral and royalty deeds, purchase and sale agreements, and operating agreements, as well as represented clients in receivership litigation.
